MSN Search Gets A New Look

New MSN Search look.png

MSN Search has gotten a facelift, junking most of the blue for lots of white space, a look very consistent with Windows Live offerings. The user interface itself is exactly the same, just the design is new.

Interestingly, this actually gives MSN the cleanest, most consistent, simplest homepage, when compared with Google’s seemingly random placement of links and homepage ads, and search.yahoo.com‘s news headlines.

  1. No, I don’t think MSN has the cleanest homepage. That’s like saying WLM8 looks cleaner than MSN5.0 or 6.0.

I don’t want fancy background pictures for search buttons. I don’t need odd gradients. I just want to search, and Google’s homepage is just as good or better to me. Luckily, the way the homepage looks is a total non-issue to me – come on, how much people don’t have a search toolbar installed yet in the first place?
