Internet Explorer Sends Firefox A Cake
Via Valleywag, here’s the cake the Internet Explorer team sent the Mozilla Foundation, congratulating them for shipping Firefox 2:
Of course, you could read some snark into it: IE7 shipped the week before Firefox 2, and they took a lot of flack for years for not shipping a new IE. Still, nice to see some mostly good-natured gestures, as opposed to, you know, antitrust lawsuits.

Though IE is my preferred browser, I’m still suspicious of this.
It may not be poisoned, but think of all the disgusting things that could’ve been done with it. *shudder*
And to plagiarize from Slashdot, I do wonder whether the ingredients were listed!

I’d look for viruses instead of poison.

Well done Microsoft, you got IE released first, but Firefox will always be miles better
If both Internet Explorer AND Firefox were shipped with windows as standard, no-one would ever go near Internet Explorer again!

Just a gesture so the IE team might have jobs when IE goes under.

Omg, Microsoft are tying to copy MyG0t Clan!
You know, bake a cake to become a member lol.

The dark icing that’s along the outside-top of the cake — looks like it’s dots and dashes.
Perhaps a Morse code message from MS to Mozilla?

Actually, if both IE and Firefox shipped w/ windows standard, all sorts of viruses and badware would be written for Firefox, and everyone would switch over to Opera.
But man, I heard it was some sort of Rum cake! Omg, rum cake is my favorite! Of course, this cake is a very good marketing strategy. It makes IE look good (Good Publicity and a tasty rum cake!), and it’s being posted all over the place. I’ve gotten to pages about this cake a bunch of times from StumbleUpon!
