If Grand Theft Auto IV Were On The Wii

Saw this funny fake GTA IV trailer, imaging the trailer if the game were being released for the Nintendo Wii:

If you don’t get the point, it’s that the whole trailer consists of last-gen old GTA game graphics. It’s not just funny, it’s a really good point, and it illustrates why you won’t see many major 360/PS3 games on the Wii.

  1. “it illustrates why you won’t see many major 360/PS3 games on the Wii.”

Sounds like a plus point to me.

  2. Well not really Paul, I can appreciate the fun aspect of the Wii as much as the next guy but I can still recognise that the kind of AAA titles on the 360/PS3/Pc are going to be on a completely different level to the Nintendo console.

  3. A plus, that you don’t get Gears of War, and Crackdown, and Halo, and GTA, and Metal Gear, and many other popular games? Even if you don’t like them, saying that not having them is a plus is just ignoring the facts of the console market. That would be like someone who only likes playing Halo (to the exclusion of every other game in history) saying that it’s a plus that the 360 doesn’t have Mario. It’s just not true, and its a ridiculous statement.

I wish I had a Wii, for the unique controller aspect and Mario/Zelda games, but I’m not going to give up the next-gen console experience for it. It kills me that the franchis I love the most, Mario, is trapped in Nintendo’s console, and as a result I haven’t owned a Mario game in four console generations. I won’t pay $300 just for Mario, no more than you’d pay $360 for Halo 3.
