Live Search Running Search Usage Testing

LiveSide writes about the Live Search Trial Assistant, a piece of software Microsoft asked 4,000 users to install that tracks their usage of search engines. The program doesn’t monitor what people search for, but rather what search engines they use and what type of engine (web, image, news) they are using. Microsoft’s goal is to see how many searches people use per day and where they do them, for research purposes.
