Office Ultimate 2007: Just $60! (for students)

Starting in 59 minutes, 35 seconds, Microsoft will begin offering Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 for students for the amazing price of just sixty dollars. This special offer for students only represents a $620 discount off the retail price of $680, a 91% savings.

You get:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Oulook (with Business Contact Manager)
  • Accounting Express
  • Publisher
  • Access
  • Infopath
  • Groove
  • OneNote
  • And some boring business features.

Amazingly, the entire suite will cost less than any single part costs on its own. For example, if you want OneNote (the amazing note-taking application every student should have), you can buy it alone for $80 or get it as part of Ultimate for $60. The promotion starts in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. today, followed by France, Italy and Spain on September 20.

Ultimate is the premier edition of Office 2007, coming with every single feature Office offers (except Communicator). This deal, which they are calling the Ultimate Steal, makes it instantly affordable for any student. The deal lasts through April 30, 2008, so you can take a little time, but go on and get it. You do not want to miss the chance to get this much Office for this low a price.

  1. I’d advise students to go to their college book/computer store first. I’m looking at the same thing for $29.

  6. My Uni charges £100 something with less features

  7. Yep, I bought the same thing at my school for $29. But I applaud any discount effort.

  8. What an amazing generous offer!

My only question…why Ultimate? Students don’t need Business Contact Manager, Accounting Express, Groove, or any of those other “boring business features”. They could have just done this promotion for the Professional version and people would have been just as happy. Either way, it’s an excellent deal!

  14. “Promotion Eligibility:

2.Individual must be a student at a U.S. educational institution and must be actively enrolled in at least 0.5 course credit and be able to provide proof of enrollment upon request.”
Only for U.S. Europa not supported. Harm for European students, but $60 looking very nice pay.

  17. Nathan Weinberg, the $29 price is not available at the website you posted or at any of the links on that page.

    Comment by Samantha | October 29, 2007

  18. Samantha, I didn’t list any $29 deal, I never even said the words “$29″. Chris did, and he didn’t link to anything. I linked to sites like the ones Chris was talking about, and all of them cost more, though not necessarilly a lot more, than $29.

  20. Does anyone know what the “small fee” for the physical disk is?

    Comment by Elly | November 7, 2007

  21. I looked at the terms and conditions and it said you only get 25 uses of each software and then it reverts to an uneditable form of the software…. at which time you have to purchase another serial key… Is this true?!?! if thats the case… what a rip off?

    Comment by Omar N | December 10, 2007

  22. Can we have the same offer here in India. I am desperate for this offer in India so that I can purchase it legally at this price. Please do inform when you start the offer in India.

  24. Can’t find it….does anyone know where to find it?

    Comment by Nitin | December 29, 2007

  25. The item is a retail version. You can download afree trial version, which is good for 25 uses. Like Omar stated, but if you purchase said item for the $59.00 + tax in some locals you get the full license. And yes you can instal it on a home computer and one portable. The small fee is 12.95 for the DVD media. One heck of a deal for Ultimate.

  28. Well, I purchased this but I have technical problem in downloading it, and after several attempts, I couldn’t download it and the system won’t let me download it, it said “I download ed too many times”, I was like “are you kidding me, I just brought it just yesterday and just tried several times”, so I left messages in the ultimate steal website and what I got was automatic generated messages, they don’t even respond my problems…So I advise you guys need to think about if you wanna buy this ultimate steal download office 2007!

  29. Hey guys, I do not understand why this offer is only available in some countries. For the newest MS deal, which offers free developer tools for students (http://channel8.msdn.com/), I can also confirm my student status e.g. with an international student ID…and it says: more countries will follow. Why not for Office Ultimate? Thanks, Tom

  30. I have a student at the University of Southern Indiana. Their website is http://www.usi.edu. There is no way the site will accept the student’s e-mail address because all student e-mail addresses end in @usieagles.org. The website at USI describes why the e-mail addresses are set up this way:

    http://media.myusi.org/myusifaq/2007/10/11/why-is-the-address-for-myusi-wwwusieaglesorg/

I contacted USI tech support on behalf of my student and they were less than helpful. Their comment was contact MicroSuck. There is a link on the site to “click her” and we will attempt to add your University to our list. Digital River, who handles the ordering and downloads, has not responded and it appears they will not.

I contacted MicroSuck and the woman I spoke with was very nice but of little or no help. She sent me some bull$hit website that did nothing for me. Please call back if you need more help. Ya right!

USI has somewhere between 9,500 to 10,000 students who are unable to take advantage of this promotion.

I still use WordPerfect and find I am able to do more with it than Office 2003 Professional, save Outlook that I do not use. Evolution is much better and open source.

My suggestion to my student is screw Microsuck keep Office 2003 and download, install and learn Open Office. It is open source and easy to obtain.
