The IE7 Logo

The IE blog has revealed the new logo for what is now being called Windows Internet Explorer 7.

IE7 logo

It’s funny, but I looked at it and the first thing I noticed was that the ring almost seemed like a shiny orange, and that it was a reference to the RSS features. Silly me, because that would actually be cool. Still, I like the new logo, and can’t wait to see it spinning in my browser (beta 2, maybe?).

Discussion:
Mary Jo Foley: “That’s just to make sure none of us forgets that IE is (an inextricable?) part of the operating system.”
Todd Bishop
Download Squad: “A yellow swoosh! In the world of color theory yellow means “intellect, freshness, joy.” OK, I see why they would choose that over, say, vermillion.”
Elliott Back: “Beautiful”
Neowin: “We think Microsoft has done a nice job this time around and the logo should look great in the final product.”
