Shift-Space

I’m sure this doesn’t surprise some people, but it did surprise me, so here’s a very small, simple tip: You know how you can keep hitting the spacebar to go down a page in Internet Explorer and other browsers? Well, I just realized that Shift-Space takes you up a page. Works in Opera, too. Simple, yes, but also useful.

You know what I hate? When a webpage (or web browser) refuses to scroll when I hit space, or when a page starts with the cursor blinking in a text box (I’m looking at you, Amazon!).

  1. Sure SHIFT also does a reverse with TAB between fields, and with ALT-TAB between apps
